Marideth has been immersed in the fitness industry for over 25 years.
After graduating from N.C. State University, she began her career as a
group fitness instructor in the Raleigh area. After many years of
teaching a variety of fitness disciplines, and especially after an injury to
her back, Marideth began to look for a more mindful approach to
exercise and movement.
In 2007, she began training in both pilates and
yoga disciplines, studying with The Pilates Certification Center,
Balanced Body, Power Pilates and YogaFit. After studying both the
contemporary and classical pilates approach, she eventually earned her
full Pilates Method Alliance certification as well as her 200 hour
Registered Yoga Alliance Teacher.
Marideth joined IFTA in 2004 as a continuing education provider and
certification specialist. She and her husband, Tony (also an IFTA fitness
trainer) have three beautiful girls, a goofy dog and grumpy cat.
Dedicated to the Raleigh area, you can usually find her teaching or
participating in the many boutique and specialized fitness studios in the
area.
