A graduate of North Carolina State University, Tony earned a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science with a minor in Psychology. While at NCSU, he competed on the varsity fencing team, earning varsity letters and a coach’s award during his three years on the team. Additionally, he ran a physical training program for a military honor service fraternity through Air Force ROTC for two years.
Tony is an ACE certified personal trainer and holds Group Fitness Leader and multiple specialty certifications through IFTA. Past certifications include Spinning, Precision Cycling, Trekking, Fittrek, and several others.
He and his wife, Marideth (also an instructor and IFTA presenter), have coordinated group fitness and cycling programs at multiple fitness facilities in Raleigh, NC. Tony is a strong advocate of functional movement and HIIT type training. An avid trail runner, he enjoys taking his fitness routine outside whenever possible. He has competed in multiple trail and road races including the Bear Run up Grandfather Mountain, the Uwharrie Mountain Run, and the Raven Rock Ramble. Tony and Marideth reside in Raleigh with their three daughters, Calvin the handsome grumpy cat, and Bailey the sad-faced joyful dog.
